London's Lost Route to Midhurst

The Earl of Egremont studied how inland navigation could be utilized to improve his estate at Petworth. This book tells the story of how the Rother Navigation came to be built (1791-95) and how it flourished for the best part of a century. It was one of the few British waterways to be owned and financed by one proprietor.
