Off the Mainline

Tony Lewery is a well known canal and waterways author and artist, and a regular contributor to the waterways press. He is an acknowledged expert on canal art and heritage, and is one of the five founders of the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port. For a number of years, Tony has been writing Off The Mainline articles for the popular Canal Junction website on a wide variety of waterway topics and events. Many of those articles are brought together in this book, where he takes a personal and thought provoking view on the subject of canal boats, barges and boathorses. They are usually illustrated with his own original photographs, and this fascinating book also contains examples of his own artwork.
