The London County Council Tramways network was the largest municipal system in Great Britain. For over three decades, from the start of the twentieth century, its electric trams served the needs of Londoners. Sadly, the reign of the Council Tramways was too short, and the efficient network deserved a better fate than that which awaited it, on 1st July 1933, at the hands of the London Passenger Transport Board.
