The painted decoration of old working boats on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal was one of the most colourful of Britain's folk traditions. Last undertaken professionally in the 1960's, no record of its origins and styles had been written. Mike Clark and Sam Yates have used their intimate knowledge of the subject to produce a readable and well illustrated history.
