Canals of North Staffordshire (map)

A map of the waterways of the Potteries, an area whose development was intertwined with the advent of the Canal Age. The map shows all the canals, with opening dates (and closing dates, where relevant), locks, bridges, aqueducts, toll offices, pumping stations, tunnels and reservoirs. The map shows the Trent & Mersey Canal from Wheelock and Leek in the north to Great Haywood in the south, and includes the Caldon, Uttoxeter and Newcastle Canals, and the related Caldon Low Tramroad system, all at a scale of 1:50,000. Notes are provided on all canals and tramroads covered.
